Princesshay are bringing Christmas to Exeter with chalets, an outdoor bar and domes

Have you been Christmas shopping in Exeter yet? I popped in on Saturday to check out Princesshay’s brand new ‘pop up’ Christmas bar complete with private snow domes. There is also a tree of epic proportions, a large Bratwurst BBQ (it wouldn’t be Christmas without a bit of German sausage) and wooden chalets selling trinkets and seasonal food.

Like lots of folk, I’m really sad to miss out on the Christmas market this year. But you’ll be glad to know that Princesshay have really pulled out the stops in the square, creating a magical Christmas scene which includes an open-air snow house bar, 7 heated snow dome pods and outdoor seating. The whole area is lit and decorated for Christmas and makes for a great place to get yourself into the Christmas spirit.

The team at Princesshay hope that it help bring about a happy ending to a pretty rubbish year. Michelle Menezes, Centre Manager, says;

We know that for many people Christmas shopping is an important Christmas tradition and we love welcoming people to the centre each year.  2020 has been a year like no other and we all need to feel a little magic. We are going to be making the centre feel festive with our new outdoor Snow House Bar, cosy snow dome pods and wooden chalets. Naturally, we are taking all the necessary steps to make the experience safe so that shoppers can relax and soak up the Christmas magic.

The snow dome pods seat a maximum of six people and are heated and lit with music playing inside the pod.  They can be booked in advance online and can fit up to six guests from the same household or support bubble as per the latest government guidelines. Food and drink can be ordered via an app from the pod. The BBQ grill will serve charcoal-grilled Bratwurst and Krakauer and the wooden chalets will be selling gifts and seasonal food.

The Princesshay Snow Bar, igloos and stalls are open until 6th January, 10am – 8pm Monday – Thursday, 10am – 10pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
