In a bid to help share information during the lockdown in Exeter, we are inviting people to contribute helpful articles with us on Exploring Exeter. Brilliant local charity Exeter CITY Community Trust are bringing their popular football sessions to your home every Saturday, read on..

One Exeter organisation that we’re huge fans of is Exeter CITY Community Trust.

They’re the partner charity of Exeter City Football Club and deliver a range of health and wellbeing activities for all ages, as well as fantastic holiday clubs, which both kids have really enjoyed.

The clubs have been halted because of coronavirus, but they’ve taken their sessions online to make sure you can get your football fix! And for the parents of youngsters who are getting tired of seeing the same four walls, I’m sure it will be a welcome relief.

The sessions will be streamed live from Facebook from 10 am every Saturday, direct from St James Park – the home of Exeter City FC – when the charity’s fantastic coaches Aaron, Callum and Tom will be bringing 30 minutes of fun football-related activity, straight into your living room.

All you’ll need is a ball and a few (unbreakable!) household items such as tins, or containers for your child to practice their skills. To join in visit the CITY Community Trust Facebook page here just before 10am tomorrow.

They are also holding a virtual 5k the weekend of May 15 and 16. If you want to get involved there is more information here.
