Chococo bring specially crafted Christmas delights to Exeter

Last month our newest Exploring Exeter recruit Charli went to Chococo Exeter for a sneak peek at their Christmas range. She also learnt about their chocolate and their ethics..

Along Exeter’s infamous Gandy Street, you’ll find Chococo. A store and café that prides itself on its handmade award-winning chocolates. I hadn’t tasted chocolate of such a high quality until visiting their Exeter store and I was lucky enough to go along to their Chocolate Week event and even sample their Christmas 2017 range which they will be drip feeding in stock soon.

The atmosphere was buzzing when I arrived – there was even a queue of chocolate-enthusiasts outside! I was greeted by wonderful staff holding a tray of delicately arranged chocolates for all to try. I have to say, my favourite from the selection was the Purely Pistachio chocolate, which won an award earlier this year. These chocolates can be handpicked in store to create a truly personalised gift for someone special, and the boxes come in all different sizes. You can also order these fresh chocolates as an advent calendar – something much more special than your usual supermarket one!

The owner of Chococo, Claire Burnett, was there to teach us all about where their chocolate comes from and the process of making it. It was great to see someone so passionate about their business and I was keen to learn more. Their cocoa beans are sourced from all over the world, from Madagascar to Colombia, and each one has its own unique taste. They even have a milk chocolate from Vietnam which is made with coconut milk – perfect for anyone who is lactose intolerant or for our vegan friends!

The thing I was most excited about is their Christmas range – some of which are available now and others which will be in store from November. I loved their unique designs, including the nutcracker tube of chocolatey goodness which comes in four different designs.

Their Christmas-themed boxes are beautifully designed and really would make the perfect gift for any chocolate lover. I also loved their Advent Treasure Hunt idea aimed at kids (or adults who love a game of chocolate hide and seek!) which just makes the festive period a little more exciting.

Chococo is perfect for if you’re on the market for an extra special gift, or even if you’re just looking for somewhere to grab a quality coffee or hot chocolate with friends. I can highly recommend them for all your chocolatey needs!

I loved my visit to the Chococo Exeter store and can’t wait to pop in soon for a hot chocolate and a browse around their shop.

While we’re on the subject of Gandy Street, have you been to Simply Roka?
