4 fab ideas for Autumn crafting with the kids

We spent quite some time creating over half term and I thought we should share our Autumn crafting with you!

1. Falling leaves

This is an idea I got from my friend & super-human Meg Pickard.

Take a walk outside and ask the children to find themselves lots of different leaves. We enjoyed looking for purple ones and red ones and noticing the difference in texture between the leaves and the moss.

Carefully release some some cling film, lay it on the table and place the leaves on it.

Place another piece of clingfilm on top (try and keep everything as flat as possible), then hang it on the window for falling autumn leaves.

2. Leaf Printing

Use the leaves you collected to for painting inspiration…

…and print patterned pictures on paper or canvas. I got these canvases super cheap from The Works on Exeter High Street.

3. Create a leaf collage

Stick some leaves onto a piece of A4 paper, creating an awesome 3D collage!

4. Paint some Halloween candle holders

Find some old jars (I always keep a few in the cupboard for storage and crafting) give them a good clean and remove all residue.

Use glass paint outliners to draw on spooky patterns and leave them to dry overnight.
