It’s been crazy busy at Exploring Exeter towers, I’ve put together a little list of highlights for the Easter holidays in and around Exeter.

  1. Get outside with Haven Banks

Haven Banks on Exeter Quay are running week-long half-day courses in sailing, climbing or kayaking. Plus pick and mix activity days with a choice of 2-3 fantastic activities each day.  Holiday programmes run from 9.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Half day courses run from 9.30am – 12.30pm or 1.30pm – 4.30pm.

2. Eggsteme Coasteering in Torquay

If you fancy something a bit more hardcore, try the eggstreme Easter egg hunt on the coast with Rock Solid Coasteering in Torquay. The egg hunt is only happening on Saturday and Sunday of the Easter weekend but there is coasteering fun to be had all holiday.

3. Kids theatre at Exeter Phoenix

Interactive show THE SNOW BEAST is coming to Exeter Phoenix with live science experiments, original music and beautiful storytelling. Happening on 8th April, 2.30pm +7.30pm. Perfect for adventurers aged 6+!

4. Easter fun at Crealy

Join Crealy for their biggest and best Easter egg hunt ever, taking place across the Easter weekend. There is also a full programme of live shows, plus rides and attractions. from 9th-13th April Marshall from PAW Patrol will be at the park every day.

5. Visit Killerton

Killerton have a Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt from the 24 March to 15 April. This year there are two trails for to choose from and explore Killerton.

6. Go for a walk near Killerton

If you’re around Killerton way, I’ve been reliably informed by Becca Neutron on Twitter, that National Trust’s ColumbJohn Wood has a beautiful walk which is packed with Bluebells at this time of year. Sounds like a good way to work off the Easter Eggs!

7. Visit the Donkeys at The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth

There is plenty of fun and adventure to keep the whole family entertained at The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth this Easter holiday. Open from 9am every day, the Sanctuary’s holiday activities will begin on 1 April and will run until Easter Monday.

The Donkey sanctuary have their Easter Holiday Hunt from 23 March – 15 April. Here you can follow the clues to find the eggs hidden around the sanctuary & win a yummy Easter egg!

8. Pick yourself up a Jurassic Coast Card and go a little further afield

Get great deals on days out, food + drink, services and trades. Discover new places, try new products, and support your local area. There are days out, cafes, crafts, courses and all sorts, and ALL with discounts!

9. Age UK Easter Bunny Hunt

Taking part in the St Thomas children’s Easter Bunny Hunt and help raise money for Age UK Exeter. The competition runs 3 – 13 April, it’s £2 to enter and every entry wins a chocolate surprise!

10. Try a kids cookery class at Exeter Cookery School

Exeter Cookery School is running cooking classes for Kids over the Easter holidays, why not teach your kids to take over the cooking at home!

11. Bring on the Spring at Princesshay

Say a big ‘Hello’ to Springtime on Friday 6th April in Princesshay with street entertainment, a vintage carousel, live music and a style and beauty area. There will be a large interactive art installation covered in attention-grabbing hand-drawn cartoons. Children and adults can get involved with paint pens, to create a huge (5 metre long by 2 metre tall) piece of community artwork. More info here.
